Chancellor Tom Apple’s Campus-Wide Conversation: Achieving Our Destiny - The UHM 2011-2015 Strategic Plan

Please join Chancellor Apple for a spirited discussion of campus-wide strategic plan implementation activities. Chancellor Apple will be joined by Susan Hippensteele, Strategic Planning Coordinator, and representatives from each of the six Working Groups that have been charged with developing recommendations addressing a broad range of initiatives including sustainability, Native Hawaiian scholarship advancement, undergraduate engaged learning, innovative classroom renovation, funding support for Ph.D. students, and campus repair and maintenance.
Approximately 150 students, faculty, staff and administrators have been involved in developing Working Group recommendations to date. Representing the Working Groups will be: Laiana Wong, Associate Professor of Hawaiian Language; Ron Bontekoe, Professor of Philosophy; Robin Hadwick, Assistant Dean, Shidler College of Business; Jim Henry, Professor of English and Director of the Manoa Writing Program; Steve Rabinow, Professor of Biology; and, Earl Matsushita, Building Services Manager, Facilities and Grounds.
