Advising

Aloha! Welcome to the University of Hawaii at Manoa Department of Biology.  Dr. Stephanie Kraft-Terry and Joseph Menor are the major academic advisors for undergraduate students majoring in Biology, Marine Biology or Zoology.  You will also have another academic advisor from the College of Arts and Sciences.  For those freshmen who are interested, there is also a Manoa Peer Advisor, "Kaya" Carleah Meenagh.

A major academic advisor will discuss the major requirements. If you have any questions about the major requirements, please email me at bioadvis@hawaii.edu

We highly recommend students to have a one-on-one session with their academic advisors (major advisor as well as with the College of Arts and Sciences).

If you are a graduate student, the graduate section of our website will have more information to help you find a sponsor to be your adviser.

Fall 2012 - New class on biogeography

For next fall semester, Dr. Camilo Mora will be offering an undergraduate course on biogeography at the Geography Department. The course will review patterns and processes in biodiversity, range size, body size, abundance and ecosystem functioning. The course will also include field work on marine and terrestrial systems around Oahu to describe such patterns as part of students final projects.
