This workshop is designed for faculty interested in developing students’ oral presentation skills. Carefully and strategically designed assignments can lead to powerful learning and development in students. In this workshop, participants will learn to apply oral presentation assignment design strategies based on learning principles and oral communication development research; select and adapt tools commonly used in excellent oral communication assignments (e.g., rubrics, scaffolding techniques) and from UHM faculty members; and learn to assess student learning meaningfully and efficiently.
