1.Develop a multicultural focus through didactic and clinical experiences.
2 Educate students to meet the needs of individuals with communication disorders in Hawaii and the Pacific Basin.
3. Provide a program that integrates academic, clinical and research experiences.
4. Provide students with exposure to clients with a variety of communication disorders and differences who represent variations in severity,age and socioeconomic backgrounds.
5. Nurture ethical behavior in academic, clinical and research activities.
6. Promote students' critical thinking skills and commitment to life -long learning.
7. Establish students participation in professional and community volunteer activities.

No.We do keep data on our students related to graduation rate, time in the program, scores on national certification exam and employment success.

determine that graduates have achieved stated
outcomes for the degree? (i.e. capstone project,
class assignment)
Graduate students take a Comprehensive examination at the completion of their graduate program.
Graduates take a national praxis exam as part of Requirement for National certification
The CCC ( Certificate of Clinical Competence) is required for employment as well as for State License. Graduates complete requirements for the CCC as part of their MS.degree program.

8. How are the assessment data/results used to
inform decisions concerning the curriculum and
administration of the program?
Data acquired as described in item 6 are reviewed on a regular basis and modifications to curriculum are made, if indicated. Course modifications. additions or deletions are carried out as appropriate. Recently,for example , we have been expanding our clinical off -campus sites in response to identified needs.
9. What attempts are made to monitor students’ postgraduate
professional activities?
Close contact is maintained through state and national professional organizations.
A follow up survey is sent after 5 years to determine professional status.
